Description
From the road in Bleikenboden near P.1254, follow the road to Schaftelenmoos, where the red-white marked hiking trail leads up to Sattelpass. From the pass, ascend steeply on a lovingly constructed mountain trail, keeping to the right, to the first summit, Bärenturm (1798 m), from which you get an excellent view of the entire ridge round in front of you. Then descend gently on a wide ridge, cross a crest, and reach a raised bog that has its tricky spots in places. So immensely attractive to the eye, so exhausting to keep the shoes reasonably dry. You cross the Haldimattstock carefree and ascend to the Nünalpstock (1900 m). On the descent, the only more difficult spot of the tour awaits – a short, slightly exposed and cable-secured rock step. Without further problems, you reach the Teufimattsattel and ascend again to the highest summit of this round, the Haglere (1948 m). The descent again leads into a raised bog, though a much less waterlogged one. And you are very glad not to have to constantly watch the ground, because the eye wants to literally absorb this picturesque landscape. You walk between groups of trees arranged as if by magic, pass dead tree skeletons and lovely clearings – no landscape gardener could have arranged this to better effect. Finally, you climb the last small summit, Bleikechopf (1680 m), before returning to the starting point via the Bleikenboden alpine hut.
If arriving by public transport, the following slightly modified circular route is recommended: Flühli Hüttlenen bus stop (915 m) – Chessiloch suspension bridge (here you can still walk a bit into the eerie Chessiloch) – Sattelpass – described ridge hike – Bleikenboden – Oberflühli – Flühli Hüttlenen; 7 h 45 min; 1500 m ascent; 18.7 km
