Description
The route starts at the station in Mammern, is signposted with waymarkers, and is therefore very easy to find. First, the path runs westwards through extensive orchards. Then follows a steep climb over the Haldenhof to Klingenzell. This pilgrimage site, with the church «Seven Sorrows of Mary», a restaurant, and its magnificent view over the Untersee is a popular excursion destination not only for pilgrims. The path continues to the Hochwacht. There, benches and a fireplace invite to rest. The concrete bunker still reminds today of the former strategic importance of this also very scenic and exposed point. Further on, at the Eggmühle, route variant B branches off, leading through the forest down to Klingenegg and finally back to the starting point in Mammern.
