Description
The starting point is the village square of Chamues-ch, where the alpine road into Val Chamuera also begins. Suddenly, a majestic building stands in the middle of the valley at 2016 m above sea level. It is the most important Maiensäss building of the canton of Graubünden from the 19th century, originally designed as a dairy and inhabited in winter until 1836. Keeping left, you reach Alp Timun, where the steep path leads left up to Fuorcla Chaschauna at 2802 m above sea level. On the other side of the pass, the sometimes steep descent into Val Chaschauna begins. Past Alp Chaschauna, the alpine road goes downhill towards S-chanf. Shortly before the Punt da Scrins bridge, a narrow hiking trail runs above the river through an intact mountain forest to the Prasüras parking lot.
