Description

On this section of the Central Thurgau Castle Route, no major climbs have to be overcome. From Sulgen, the hiking trail leads through the hamlets Bleiken, Götighofen, and Buchackern. Before the route passes the idyllic Biessenhofer pond, the Eppishausen castle, now used as a retirement home, peeks across the golf course.

After Schocherswil and Räuchlisberg, the Central Thurgau Castle Route crosses the Hudelmoos, a biodiversity hotspot and nature reserve. Finally, you reach the impressive Water Castle in Hagenwil, parts of which are over 800 years old. Besides an exciting history and beautiful rooms, guests are offered a restaurant with many regional specialties. The wine served comes from the castle’s own vineyard. Back on the path, Amriswil is reached shortly afterwards.
