Cauma from Riein

Description
From Riein, shortly after the start, it is mostly uphill at a leisurely pace. The wide alpine meadows are ideal snowshoe terrain. The hut at Alp da Riein is a wonderful place to take a long break. The view of the Surselva mountains is already phenomenal here. You now climb through blueberry bushes, which are hopefully no longer visible, towards the summit slope. This has steep passages and requires experience in choosing a route in the right conditions. You can climb up the steep northern slope or over the shoulder. Now you are standing on the generous summit of the Cauma and can enjoy the phenomenal view.
We descend via the same route. There are always small variations that make the descent exciting.
If you know the area well and are experienced in assessing the risk of avalanches, it is also possible to descend via the Dutjer Alp and/or the Alp da Sevgein.
