Cauma and Dutjerhorn from Oberdutjen

Description
This ski route starts behind the last houses of Ober Dutjen. It goes steadily uphill through open forests, alpine meadows, and forest clearings. Steeper at times, gentler at others. In midwinter, the ascent to Dutjer Alp is almost or entirely in the shade. At the alp, in addition to sunshine, a really beautiful panorama over the vast mountains down to the alpine town of Chur opens up. The route continues onto the ridge of Cauma. In unsafe conditions, it is not recommended to go on the steep north slope. At Cauma, the route can be nicely ended – as most do. Those who prefer alpine style and when the conditions are very safe can also include Dutjerhorn. Often skis have to be carried in parts. Dutjerhorn forms the first summit of the Signina chain visible from afar. A truly magnificent backdrop awaits you on both summits.
The difficulty increases at Dutjerhorn to AD to AD+ (Cauma: PD).
The descent basically follows the ascent route. Thanks to its north-facing position, this route is a secret tip for powder descents.
