Castasegna - Casaccia

Uphill route on gravel and asphalt roads with little traffic.

This route is almost entirely in the shade - ideal for hot summer days.

From Brentan, the route climbs towards Soglio through the majestic chestnut forest, passes under a waterfall to the village of Plazza and then descends on the cantonal road to Promontogno. Continue uphill on a gravel road to Caccior and then on asphalt to Coltura. For a change, after crossing the village of Coltura, we recommend descending to Stampa, crossing the main road, passing in front of the Ciäsa Granda museum and continuing on the gravel road that climbs to the left at the Hotel Val d'Arca.After crossing the beautiful pine forest, you come to the Via Bregaglia, which leads to Vicosoprano, from where you continue on the road to Roticcio. The last part of this route runs along the Sentiero Panoramico, which leads to Casaccia.

Detour: Between April 13 and May 7, 2026, the section between Casaccia and Löbbia is closed due to timber work and will be rerouted on the other side of the valley. From Löbbia, the route runs as usual again.
