Description
On the way to the planet trail, the Emme is first crossed via the Waldegg bridge, where the former Wasenmeisterei is on the left. The Wasenmeister was responsible for skinning and carrying the animal carcasses under the wasen (ground). Similar to the executioner, the job of Wasenmeister was disreputable and dishonorable. The path continues through the Waldegghole, which was part of the late medieval market route Burgdorf-Kaltacker-Affoltern. Through the Waldegghole, the Brunnstubenweg, and the Binzberghole, one arrives at the Binzberg.
At the exit of the forest on the right, slightly above the street, is the sun model, followed by the planets Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars mounted on concrete posts at distances corresponding to the scale of the universe. The Binzberg is the oldest known city estate. In 1343, the Sels monastery sold the tithe to Peter von Seedorf in Bern. Since 1424, Binzberg has been municipal. The current farmhouse with its late classical facade was built in 1902. The storage house dates back to 1791.
Before entering the forest to the Deuchelacher forester's house, you encounter Jupiter. From 1347 to 1798, the clergy of Heimiswil also had to hold services in the Siechenkapelle near Burgdorf. The connecting path, called Pfaffenweg, leads from Heimiswil over the Deuchelacher to Burgdorf. From here, a very beautiful view opens up at the lower forest edge (signpost viewpoint) over the village of Heimiswil.
Further along the way, in the forest near Obere Rüglen, you come across Saturn. If you continue over the Egg, after a while on the left side of the road is the model of Uranus. Before the descent to Kaltacker, you will find the nail smithy on the left side of the path. In 1805, Jakob and Samuel Stalder began producing forged nails here as a sideline to agriculture. The room is illuminated by an external push button, allowing visitors a view inside the workshop through the window.
At the road junction near Kaltacker school, the path leads over the Guetisberg farm group to the Rutschiweid farmstead, where the model of Neptune stands. The path now descends into the Chänerechtäli and then ascends on the opposite side toward Wynigen. At the first houses, you encounter Pluto, the formerly ninth planet of the solar system. Since 2006, Pluto is no longer considered a planet but a dwarf planet, belonging to the Kuiper Belt, a zone with numerous small planets beyond the solar system. Compared to the planetary orbits, Pluto's orbit is also significantly more eccentric.
When you reach the village of Wynigen on Luegstrasse, on the right side of the street in Mühligässli, there is a worth-seeing storage house painted with the cantonal coats of arms from the year 1759.
