Description
From the PostBus stop «Buffalora» (Buffalora guesthouse) the bike goes to Alp Buffalora with a subsequent climb. The Val Mora bike route can also be started from Süsom Givè and the short but beautiful single trail to Buffalora can be used as a warm-up. On the Jufplaun plain, the gravel road leads straight ahead with a slight ascent – just below a customs hut a short uphill section before reaching the crossing to Val Mora. After the crossing, a steep but well-ridable trail descends into Val Mora. Val Mora is still an untouched mountain valley, only visited by hikers and bikers. First through rocks, later on comfortable forest roads with views of the surrounding peaks and waterfalls. At Döss Radond (2234 m) is the watershed; water flows on one side via the Aua da Vau into Val Müstair, on the other side into the reservoir of Livigno. Now the descent begins. Past Alp Praveder (2090 m) descend to Alp Clastras (1943 m). Shortly below, the hiking trail runs right to Lai da Rims. At Tschuccai (1779 m) the path splits. Keep right or left and ride down Val Vau on the forest road until after some time you reach Sta. Maria or Valchava. With the PostBus, you can travel uphill and downhill hourly.
Very fit bikers can also start this bike route as a loop from Sta. Maria.
