Description

The cogwheel railway leads in an impressive route from Brienz up to the summit of the Brienzer Rothorn. At the top awaits a spectacular panorama with the Bernese Alps and the turquoise-blue Lake Brienz. The classic high-altitude hike begins directly at the mountain station and first leads steeply down to the Eisseesattel with its associated lake. Along rock walls, ridge passages, and steep meadows follows an ascent to Anihaaggen, which is never dangerous but not completely free of vertigo. Once on the other side, a comfortable path leads down from the summit and then continues to the final point at Brünig pass.
