Description
From Chur train station, you can reach the valley station of the Chur-Dreibündenstein mountain railways either by city bus (line 1, Stadthalle stop) or on foot in about 15 minutes. The scenic and easy hike starts at the top station of the Brambrüesch-Bahn. Soon the Malixer Alp is reached through picturesque forest sections. Relatively flat and with wonderful panoramic views, you first pass the Galtialp, later the Bärenalp, and finally the Pradaschieralp. Several barbecue areas for a rest and a magnificent mountain flora accompany the hiker - a true pleasure hike! Soon the top station of the Pradaschier-Bahn is reached, where a cozy mountain inn with a large sun terrace invites you to visit. Downhill, you go with the longest toboggan run in the world, a truly unforgettable experience! Alternatively, you can also reach Churwalden by chairlift or on foot via the hiking trail. From Churwalden, the post bus takes 30 minutes back to Chur.
Note: For this hike, an attractive round trip ticket is available from the Chur-Dreibündenstein mountain railways, which includes the mountain ride from Chur to Brambrüesch, two descents on the Pradaschier - Churwalden toboggan run, as well as the return journey by post bus from Churwalden to Chur.
Variant A: From the Brambrüesch mountain restaurant follow the hiking trail to Malixer Alp and on to Dreibündenstein. Descent via Grünenbühl to Pradaschier (total hiking time approx. 3 h 15 min.) Variant B: Hiking trail to Churwalden.
