Description
The ascent is comfortably conquered on this route by the gondola from Chur. Arriving at the high plateau Brambrüesch, exactly 1,000 meters above the city of Chur, you initially stroll leisurely from the mountain station straight past several mountain restaurants: Battagliahütte, VIVA berg.baiz, and Malixerhof. So those who want to enjoy the view on a sunny terrace still have a good selection. Past Malixerhof, the path finally goes down towards the middle station Känzeli. The path runs parallel to the toboggan run but is wide enough to accommodate sledders and hikers. Unlike the toboggan run, the winter hiking trail works even when there is little or no snow. Gently going downhill, you can wonderfully enjoy the landscape and views. In between, you walk in the shade of the forests, then longer open sections follow. In the middle section, the panorama into the Schanfigg valley with Hochwang, Arosa Weisshorn, Strelapass, and Weissfluh summit is especially beautiful. Shortly before arriving at Känzeli, the view to the city of Chur and the Bündner Rhine valley opens up. From the middle station Känzeli, you can then comfortably take the gondola back down to the valley.
