Description
From the Walser village Bosco Gurin, along the white-red mountain trail through high-altitude pastures and rocky slopes to Alpe Bann. Passing large boulders, continue to ascend to the small lake, after which the ascent to Schwarzsee is no longer so strenuous. The lake owes its name to the very dark color of its waters.
During summer, flocks of sheep are often encountered in this rocky alpine area. Then continue through the debris towards the Üssera See, from where you now descend towards the Üsser and Endra Staful alpine pastures. The descent through the larch forest to Bosco Gurin is again very steep.
Once in the village (check the bus schedule to and from Bosco Gurin in advance), it is possible to visit the Walserhaus museum to learn more about the history of this enclave.
