Border experiences at Remel

Your tour starts in Burg im Leimental, where above the picturesque village the castle sits atop a distinctive rock. Right from the start, you immerse yourself in a varied Jura hike that repeatedly takes you across canton and national borders.

Along the way, you pass the memorial of chemist Albert Hofmann, which commemorates the famous discoverer of LSD. The scenic highlight follows at Remelspitz. Here you'll find an approximately 8-meter high observation tower, once used by the army as a watch post. The entrance is via a secured ladder, but the short climb is worth it: On a clear day, the view extends from the Jura heights all the way to the Alpine range.

Along the route, beautiful rest areas and viewpoints invite you to linger repeatedly before you finally hike to Röschenz, where the tour ends leisurely.
