Description
Passing Bürglen, the hometown of Wilhelm Tell, you continue with a gentle ascent on the Klausen Pass road through the elongated Schächental. Impressively, the Klausen road carved into the rock presents itself along the “Lini”. Over 400 meters below, you can see the hamlet of Aesch with the waterfall shooting up more than 90 meters. On the natural road over the Schächental Höhenweg, you will be invigorated by impressive mountain panoramas and beautiful alpine settlements. Don't forget to take a piece of Urner alpine cheese from one of the many alpine huts along the way. The following impressive mountain and valley ride with a magnificent view over the Schächen and Reuss valleys will delight you. Challenging but short climbs provide variety for your heart rate on this section – and the mountain guesthouses along the route offer a wide range and rest opportunities. After the idyllic valley basin at Steinselez, there is one last ascent to Fleschseeli before you tackle the final treat of this attractive route with the descent via Eggberge and the Altdorf Bannwald.
