Bike circular route to Kasteln Castle and back to Aarau along the Aare river

This beautiful bike route with numerous elevation meters leads northward from the old town of Aarau via Biberstein up to the Gatter. After the steep ascent follows the descent towards Thalheim, past Kasteln Castle and leisurely to Veltheim. Soon the course of the Aare is reached, which is followed back to Aarau on relatively flat terrain.

Good fitness is required for this route, especially for the steep ascent to the Gatter.
