Description

After Biberegg, you cross an idyllic bridge and the little river Steiner Aa. You soon enter a small fairytale forest. Well warmed up, the route then climbs steadily uphill. You can take a break here and there, and when you turn round you can enjoy the sweeping view over the Rothenthurm raised bog, the largest contiguous area of raised bog in Switzerland. The trail continues across snow-covered meadows to Spilmettlen. The most challenging section is now complete, and the impressive panoramic view of the Aegeri valley, the Schwyz basin, the Rigi and Lake Lucerne will reward you for your efforts.

A short descent takes you to Herrenboden, and shortly afterwards another highlight awaits: the Skywalk, one of the longest pedestrian suspension bridges in Europe at 374 metres, offers hikers with a head for heights an unforgettable experience. Those who prefer to skip the bridge can simply carry on walking. After a final small ascent, the trail gently descends to Mädern, where the circle closes and you return to Biberegg along the familiar route.
