Bauma – Steg: “From Summit to Summit” (2 days)

The start of the hike is the Bauma train station in the Töss Valley. The hiking trail leads in about 2 ½ hours up to the Hörnli. From Hörnli, the path continues to the hotel Panorama Restaurant Hulftegg. The next destination on the hike is the Schnebelhorn, the highest mountain in the canton of Zurich at 1,292 m above sea level. Past the cozy alpine tavern Tierhag, the route can be concluded in about 2 hours by descending to Steg station (see variant A) or continued via Schindelberg to Chrüzegg.

The Chrüzegg mountain inn is reached in about 2 hours walking time, where overnight stays are possible. The hike continues down to the Hotel-Restaurant Atzmännig in the Goldingertal either via the Geoweg or over the Tweralpspitz. The final very challenging stage leads from Atzmännig over the Höchhand, Boalp, and the Alp Scheidegg up to the Hüttkopf (1,232 m above sea level). From this pyramid-shaped viewpoint, the trail descends to the district "Boden" in the municipality of Fischenthal. The nearby swimming pool offers the opportunity to complete the magnificent summit tour in the Zurich mountain area with a refreshing bath. The return journey is by Thurbo train from Steg station.
