The route follows the ascent of the Eiger Ultra Trail routes E101 and E53 from Burglauenen via Wengen to the Männlichen. Once Wengen is reached, a great view of the snow-covered Jungfrau massif opens up. From here, the route zigzags up the Gemsweg to the Männlichen. As an option, the Männlichen cable car can be taken back to the valley or you can continue to the Holenstein mid-station. Those who want to follow the trail back down take the Öpfelchüechliweg to Brandegg. It is rumored that the mountain restaurant Brandegg serves the best Öpfelchüechli in the world. Freshly strengthened, you then tackle the last stretch to Grindelwald Grund.
