Description
This varied and technically demanding circular route starts in Cardada and initially follows a flow trail through the forest towards Bassa di Cardada. After emerging from the trees, the climb to Cima della Trosa (1,869 m), the highest point of the route, begins. The ascent is challenging but features a steady gradient, making it runnable for experienced trail runners.
From the summit, a fast and smooth descent leads to Bassa di Bietri – perfect for finding your rhythm again. This is followed by another climb to Alpe Cardada, before a technical descent takes you down to the Monti di Chiodo. From there, the trail rises slightly once more to return to Cardada – the prelude to the final descent to Brè sopra Locarno.
The finish is close: only one last climb remains, requiring strength and determination to complete the loop and return to the starting point.
