Description

From Les Reussilles station, follow the road to Bellelay northeast for 500 m. At point 1027, a lane turns to a gentle rise, from where there is a splendid view over the rolling landscape of the Freiberge. Passing the widely dispersed farms of Le Cernil, you mainly walk pathless through the pastures of La Chaux de Tramelan for a longer time. After the pasture crossing, which also marks the cantonal border, a faintly marked meadow path descends through a terrain hollow to the farm Gros Bois Derrière. For the onward route through the marshy pastures, it is best to follow a faintly marked terrain depression that leads by the farm La Petite Theurre to the forest-surrounded, dreamy Etang de la Gruère. The signage now follows the small road. A nicer way is the onward route on a well-maintained moor path on the north or south shore of the pond. In La Theurre, the hiking trail leads sharply back to the pond and follows its south shore to the Moulin de la Gruère. Here the road is crossed, and you climb into the lightly forested Pâturage communale. Following the western edge of the peat bog La Tourbière, you reach the junction near La Chaux-des-Breuleux. Eastwards you now go into the light fir forest and along a pasture up to the farm Sur le Crêt. A soothing view over the gentle hills of the Freiberge and the soft Montagne du Droit. The return route to Les Reussilles leads down to the railway line and along it to the station.
