Description
From the postbus stop, the path follows the Schwarzwasser river to the district Rüschegg Graben. After a short detour onto the road to cross the Gambach, the hiking trail winds along the river to the covered wooden bridge. Slightly ascending, the path disappears into the forest. A "barbecue spot" at Wissehalte invites you to linger. After descending through the forest, Rüschegg Heubach greets from its hiding place behind the hills. After the schoolhouse follows the most challenging part of the hike. On the sunny side of the valley, the path climbs up to Rüschegg church, one of the most popular wedding churches in the region. Right next to it, inscriptions on the facade of the farmhouse recall the eventful history of the area. Across meadows, the path descends towards another jewel, the Gambach waterfall. At the very end of the valley, it plunges over stones and rubble into the depths and then babbles on towards the Schwarzwasser. After the detour to the waterfall, the hiking trail ascends towards Nötenhus. The view here extends into the Emmental to the Lucerne mountains. The hiking trail now descends towards Wilisau, the start and end point of this circular hike.
