Around Bern - over the Bantiger

In the tangled hill ridge of the Bantiger you find sandstone rocks, hollow ways, castle sites, hidden farms and, of course, the widely visible TV tower. Our hike starts at the Lutzeren bus stop between Bolligen and Hub. On the ascent to Geristein there is a good view of the famous rock formation, the Geristein Elephant. Immediately afterwards, a detour to the ruins of Geristein castle beckons. The 192 m high TV tower is reached via Bantigenhubel. The 42 m high viewing platform offers a beautiful panoramic view of the Bern region. On the descent to Boll you pass through the small village of Ferenberg with the beautifully located country inn Alpenblick.
