Right at the beginning of the route, your muscles will be a little challenged. Nicely warmed up, you can enjoy the ride through the Mösers of Eggerstanden. Turn around once - otherwise, you will miss the impressive view of the entire Alpstein massif. Now you experience the hilly landscape up close. The steady climb through the "Chrätzerenwald" to the "Hoher Hirschberg" is rewarded with a magnificent view of the Alpstein. Here begins the long descent to the Rhine Valley, which lies about 550m lower. Now you ride almost effortlessly through the vineyards to the historic market town of Altstätten, which offers you a lot of cultural and traditional experiences. To get back to Appenzell, the Appenzeller trains will gladly take the effort off your shoulders.
