Description
The path to the hut is in good condition and easy to walk, even though it is quite steep. You pass numerous alpine huts with typical Vallemaggia Rustici (stone houses). Once at the hut, you quickly reach Alzasca Lake (1855 m), a destination for many fishermen. From Bocchetta di Cansgéï (2036 m), you can enjoy a spectacular view of the lake and the Campo valley. In the distance, you can also see the face of Pizzo Bombögn.
From the pass, a level path leads up to 2135 m, from where the steep descent with some difficult sections begins, but with a view of Sascola Lake, a gem enclosed by rocks.
The lake is crystal clear and deserves a stop for a short but refreshing swim. From here, you follow a rather technical path to Rotonda (1268 m) and then further to Tacitt (668 m). On a balcony path, you return via Rovana to Cevio.
