Description

It initially crosses the pasture of Alpe Foppa and then descends the slope of the Valle del Trodo, along a historic path immersed in a beech forest and characterized by stretches of mule track. The latter was used in the past by the army and locals to supply Alpe Foppa, still active and producing several typical products, such as the award-winning alpine cheese that can be consumed and purchased locally at the Alpe Foppa Restaurant. At about halfway along the route you reach Nágra, where it is still possible to see the homonymous fort, part of the Monte Ceneri Fortifications built during the First World War. This fort, strategically located 400 m above Forte Spina, was intended to protect the slope descending from Monte Tamaro, between the Val Trodo and the Spina Mountains. From Nágra the route continues towards Monte Ceneri. In this area, you cross a recently restored chestnut forest before proceeding to Soresina along a flat path.
