Description

It initially crosses the Alpe Foppa pasture and then descends the slope of the Trodo Valley, along a historic path immersed in a lush beech forest. This section retraces the upper part of the route once used by locals to supply Alpe Foppa, which is still active and produces various typical products, such as the award-winning Alpine cheese that can be consumed and purchased at zero km at the Alpe Foppa Restaurant. About halfway through the route, you arrive at Nágra, where the namesake fort can still be seen, part of the Monte Ceneri Fortification built during the First World War. This fort, in a strategic position 400 m above Forte Spina, aimed to protect the slope descending from Monte Tamaro, between the Val Trodo and the Spina Mountains. From here, continue on a flat path towards the intermediate station, then ascend a short stretch of forest road up to Piano di Mora.
