Description
Identical to the better-known crossing in the first part, up to Monte Gradiccioli, then follows a descending and shaded route, but also very attractive and panoramic, in the second part. In this case too, we start from Alpe Foppa at 1,532 m above sea level. The first part of the route takes you to the summit of Monte Tamaro, from where you can enjoy an incomparable 360° view of the surrounding area. There is also a passage under the summit that shortens the route by about half an hour. Then follow the path of the traditional Monte Tamaro – Monte Lema Crossing up to Monte Gradiccioli. After reaching its summit, continue downhill along the eastern ridge and then through fabulous beech and chestnut forests. About 2 hours' walk from the summit of Monte Tamaro, you reach Arosio, a typical and picturesque village of Malcantone, ideal for enjoying a well-deserved break while waiting for the bus back to Rivera.
