The history of Alp Flix is part of the history of the Walser people. They used and claimed the settlement area of Alp Flix. This is shown by the chapel from the 15th century, dedicated to Saints Placidus and Rochus. At the end of the 17th century, the Walser completely abandoned this permanent settlement to settle in Sur. Today, Alp Flix is inhabited again throughout the year.
