Äußerer (Ausserer) Nockenkopf or Dosso di Fuori from Masi Roia (Rojen)

Half-day snowshoe hike that can be tackled at a very relaxed pace and is easy up to the anticlimb of Ausserer Nockenkopf where a Triple Papal Cross stands.

Then, for the short connection to the main summit with cairn, it depends a lot on snow conditions – today in perfect conditions it was still easy, but you can assume it is possible to get into medium and in some cases even difficult level.

The (German language) snowshoe itinerary guide “Südtirol West” by Rother rates it easy up to the anticlimb and then ... describes the connection but does not assess its difficulty.

From the anticlimb, there is a good view of Lake Resia and the very famous “Curon Bell Tower.”
