Älggialp Vorder Seefeld

From the Älggi car park, the path leads to the geographical centre of Switzerland. You continue over the Älggiboden, past the Teltiegg towards the Ziflucht. The romantic path continues through the forest to Alp Gschwanten. There you follow the road to Vorder Seefeld. Magnificent views of the Lungern and Bernese Alps invite you to pause a while. From Vorder Seefeld to Sachseln Seefeld, the path climbs only slightly. Along the foot of the Seefeldstöckli, Lake Seefeld comes into view. This glorious mountain lake invites you to circumnavigate it. Depending on where the sun is in the sky, its clear waters reflect the Brünighaupt, the Abgschütz or the Seefeldstöckli.

From the outlet of the lake, the trail leads down to Älggialp. The Melchtal mountains, which boast unusual shapes from this perspective, are worth another look. Why not visit the Berggasthaus Älggialp for something to eat and drink?
