Description

Adelboden is known for three things: the mineral water, the World Cup giant slalom race Chuenisbergli, and the Vogellisi. The Vogellisi is marketed for tourism: at the Vogellisi Trophy, hikers and users of mountain railways can participate in a competition. At the starting point of the hike, Adelboden Post, the last stop of the bus line from Frutigen, you take the Höreli route via Unterer Höreliweg Schwandfeldspitz. On some signposts, instead of the dialect name Höreli, the standard German term Hörnli is used. Moderately ascending, first on a forest road, then on paths, you reach Höreli. On this section, it is worth stopping and looking back at the Entschlige waterfall. At the Alpine garden, ascend left towards Tschentenegga and Tschentenalp, initially on a pleasantly laid footpath, later on a forest road to Tschentenalp. It is worth pausing to enjoy the view of the surrounding mountain peaks. Next, follow the signposts towards Schermtanne. This route is walkable in winter as well, as indicated by the symbols on the signposts. First flat, then descending on a path through meadows and forest, the paved road to Schermtanne is the next landmark: Do not turn left onto the paved road, but continue hiking straight ahead, mostly through the forest along the Stigelbach, over a footbridge and along the Allebach. A covered resting place invites a pause. If you are not looking for a relaxed experience but a thrill, you can visit the Adventure Park, a rope park, at Rehärti. At the entrance of the village Adelboden, after crossing the Allebach, the hike continues uphill on the Risetensträssli, then on the flat village road through Adelboden to the finish.
