Description
Church and rectory dominate the well-preserved village center of Walkringen with the magnificent buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries, built by several “canvas lords”. From the Walkringen station, head towards the village and immediately steeply uphill to the farms of Golpisberg. On the way, a beautiful view of the village and the Mänziwilegg. The still steep ascent to Nünhaupt is more than compensated by the view back to Wikartswil, to Rüttihubelbad and over the Bantiger to the Jura. The peculiar name Nünhaupt presumably recalls that the meadows there provided fodder for nine head of cattle. In the hollow at the road crossing from the Goldbach valley to Biglen is the Tanne group of houses. Here you enter the large forest at Geissrüggen, through which you gently ascend to reach the Spränzel clearing. Above the Hinteregg farm, the view opens to the Stockhorn-Gantrisch range. However, the view from Moosegg/Waldhäusern is simply overwhelming. Also splendid is the descent over the Egguriedegg to Gemi, where you once again have the entire mountain panorama between Pilatus and Stockhorn in front of you. Then it goes down a steep, rough path to Blasen and parallel to the road to Emmenmatt station.
