Across spring meadows to the idyllic Gantrischseeli

Description
From the Gurnigel, Gantrischhütte PostBus stop, you proceed to the parking lot of the lower Gantrischhütte, where the hiking trail begins. Soon you cross the Gantrischsense, then it goes steeply uphill to Alp Bireberg. This is already the highest point of the circular hike. In summer, the Mäder family from the municipality of Schwarzenburg runs an Alpine farm here with goats and a hut serving drinks and small snacks. From Alp Bireberg, you descend in a southeast direction to the Gantrischseeli. Due to its idyllic location and good accessibility – even families with small children can easily make it here – it is a popular excursion destination. As the Gantrischseeli is relatively large, you can still find a nice spot for a picnic on its shore. A swim in the lake is very refreshing, as the water is painfully cold even in midsummer. From Gantrischseeli, follow the hiking trail northwards back to the starting point. Those who occasionally pause on the trail and look upwards may, with a lot of luck, even spot a bearded vulture.
