Aadorf - Hofstetten - Aadorf: "Elgger Grenz-Trail"

Explore the borders of the municipality of Elgg. The varied route takes you through forests and rural hamlets. Enjoy a cool refreshment at the end of the ride in the historic old town of Elgg or visit the late Gothic church from the 16th century.

Start the bike route at Aadorf station. The route first takes you out of Aadorf through the Buechwis district. Then the path leads over field paths and through the forest to Kappel. Here a zigzag path leads up to Zünikon. It continues over forest trails and main roads to Oberschottikon. The next climb passes by Dickbuch to Hofstetten. Treat yourself to a break at the inn Zur Guhwilermühle or cool your feet in the Guemüliweier pond.   

Refreshed, you ride on the road towards Schauenberg; sporty cyclists can take a detour to the Schauenberg ruins. Then the path continues to Ettenhausen. From here you return to Aadorf station.
