Description
You leave the hamlet of Stalden on an old cart track, which leads us over long stretches as a hollow way (lane) up through the sunny homesteads. At the «Bildstöckli» you reach the road leading to Horgrasen. Shortening a hairpin bend, you hike to the uppermost homesteads beneath the imposing Heubrigfluh. From here you walk on the unique slab path through the legendary Schluechtrisi. Through the impressive, mostly dry stream bed of the Teufdolen you return to greener areas (Klosterberg). At Klosterweid you cross the Starzlenbach and follow the old Pragel path behind Guetentalboden. Now you leave the Pragel path and reach the Bödmerenwald on the right after a short, steep ascent through the Bärenloch. Surely no one minds stopping for a visit at the Alpwirtschaft Unter Roggenloch.
Afterwards you circle around the geologically unique Roggenstöckli, to reach Mittenwald through unique primeval forest relics. A few hundred meters on the alpine road heading south to Alp Unter Gschwänd, then you turn right into the mountain path to Gross Band. The path through Gross Band is rightly considered a «pearl» in the Muotatal mountain world! Unique and well secured, it follows the base of a partly massive, overhanging cliff. Over a short, steep but secured ascent you reach flatter terrain. Through the forest, which repeatedly offers wonderful views of the valley, you descend to Fedli. Now only a few minutes remain on the little dirt road with a short tunnel to Pragelstrasse. About a quarter of an hour on the road brings you back to the starting point Stalden with its inns on foot.
