Description
The path from Chur station to the valley station of the modern Brambrüeschbahn is only one kilometer long. From the city outskirts, it first goes to the Känzeli middle station and then with another gondola up to Chur's local mountain – always along the ridge with views of the city and the Chur Rhine Valley.
Exactly 1,000 meters above the cantonal capital, the sledding adventure begins, either directly at the mountain station or alternatively a bit further ahead near the ski lift. The sledding path offers fast descents and sweeping curves, but also more leisurely sections. On these, one can particularly enjoy the view of the snowy Graubünden mountain world: the original Schanfigg valley with its Walser villages lies virtually at the sledders’ feet, and in the far distance the Aroser Weisshorn is clearly visible.
Thanks to its consistent gradient, the sledding path is ideal for families and children. At the end, before the goal at the Känzeli middle station, the view once again sweeps over the valley and deep down to Chur.
