Description

After buying your daily provisions at the well-stocked village shop, hop on the mountain bike saddle, ride through San Bernardino and begin the ascent to Pian Cales, accompanied by the sound of cowbells. Looking at the numerous mountain giants, you quickly recover from the exertion, or you stop at one of the many springs to enjoy the refreshing San Bernardino water.

The Alp Piandos is the ideal place to taste some of the regional specialties; then it goes downhill to the small mountain lake, a true oasis of peace, where you gather strength for the last climb. Soon you reach one of the most important peat bogs in southern Switzerland, an idyllic spot where you can observe wildlife undisturbed in their habitat. On clear days you can see the ruins of the Mesocco fortress down below. Following the shore of Lake Isola, you return to the village, where you can comfortably sit at one of the small tables of the numerous restaurants for a well-deserved rest.

An exciting route rich in history, culture and nature, whether you are riding on one of the singletrails over the alpine pastures or one of the wider paths through the forest.
