Description

Near the old town of Chur, the cable car takes off towards Brambrüesch. Vacation mood sets in here: The short ride near the ridge offers a beautiful view of the oldest town in Switzerland.

Once on the hilly plateau, you trudge over picturesque alps and admire the panorama with the mountains around Arosa, Schanfigg and Lenzerheide. Through the forest, it goes to the clearing at Spundis. There, the view shifts to the other side. The Tödi towers on the horizon; further up, the Calanda massif and Ringelspitz dominate the scenery. Soon the next destination approaches: the Hühnerköpfe at the Furggabüel chairlift. Below the lift, the trail leads toward the summit goal. The historic Dreibündenstein, border point of the former three Rhaetian leagues, is the center of the trail. A 360-degree panorama awaits: Heinzenberg, Safiental, Vorderrhein and Hinterrhein valleys, Vorab, Falknis, the Rätikon massif as well as the mountain ranges of Arosa, Lenzerheide and Davos. At the highest point (Furggabüel, 2174 m above sea level) there is a panorama board giving information about the names and heights of the surrounding peaks as well as the well-visible mountain ranges of the Tectonic Arena Sardona (UNESCO World Heritage Site).

The snowshoe hike can be started in Brambrüesch or Pradaschier. Either way, those who want can end it with a descent experience. In Pradaschier, the longest toboggan run in Switzerland promises plenty of adrenaline. From Brambrüesch, you can sled down to the Känzeli middle station with a rented sled.
