469 Wildenstein - Ryfenstein
Informationen zur Route
Best Time of Year
Description
After a warm-up phase from Liestal to Bubendorf, the first ascent to Murenberg is rewarded with a view of the Rhine plain.
Soon after, the Wildenstein Castle nature reserve follows. 500-year-old, gnarled oaks line the path and create the romantic backdrop up to the castle gate. On a circular route with audio stations, you are immediately transported back to the Middle Ages. The enchanting rose garden, a detour to the Sormatt waterfall, or a refreshment stop at the farm shop complete the visit.
The hike continues through the hilly landscape to Titterten. Especially in April, the many blooming cherry trees around Titterten are a true spectacle. The dark, mossy Flüegrabe valley leads past the legendary Rifenstein ruin. Reigoldswil is finally the endpoint of the hike and the starting point for excursions into the waterfall area.
Note: During renovation work on Niederdörferstrasse in Arboldswil, the hiking trail (Route 469) is guided from the turnoff to Hof Schlif to the forest towards Gling-Gugger above the road on the meadow. Please walk in single file on this section to avoid unnecessary damage to the countryside.
