Description
Many have already driven the route between Klosters and Davos countless times by car. Completely unknown is the beautiful and diverse landscape that lies off the cantonal road. It is high time to walk the path and follow the traces of the pack animals.
The starting point is the Walser settlement Schlappin with the picturesque Schlappinsee, by the way a perfect photo subject. The path leads down to Klosters Platz. After crossing the Landquart river, the path briefly follows the cantonal road towards Davos or the Vereina tunnel loading station Klosters Selfranga. Then the path rises as a gorge trail along the Stüzbach up to the Grüenbödeli at 1,439 m above sea level. After the Grüenbödeli restaurant, the path crosses the cantonal road. It then continues crosswise through the Stütz forest to the Davos Laret station of the Rhaetian Railway. Shortly after the Davos Laret station, the Schwarzsee already appears. A gem of a lake with its idyllic location, away from any hustle and bustle and perfect for a short break.
The path continues along the Schwarzsee and passes through the hamlet of Davos Laret. There the path again crosses the cantonal road and leads along near the road up to the Davos Wolfgang mountain pass at 1,632 m above sea level. From the mountain pass, the path leaves the cantonal road and now follows the tracks of the Rhaetian Railway. The Davos lake already shows itself from its most beautiful side, and shortly after the path follows its shore past the Badi and the sailing and surfing club to Davos Dorf at 1,560 m above sea level.
