Winterthur – Bauma – Rapperswil: “Töss-Jona Route”

From the second largest city in the canton of Zurich to the shore of the beautiful Lake Zurich, this varied route takes you. You travel from the city center in Winterthur through the small neighborhoods to Winterthur Töss. There you follow the river of the same name through the forest to Sennhof Kyburg. On a beautiful bike path you always follow the river through the various picturesque villages of the Tösstal valley to Steg. Along the way, watch the lovely old half-timbered houses with flowers in the windows and the beautiful nature. The route evokes many memories of the industrial boom of the Zurich Oberland, but the landscape is also shaped by wooded hills, steep slopes, and wild gorges. Take a break and treat yourself to a coffee, for example at the Ehriker Beck in Turbenthal or at the Voland confectionery in Steg. From Steg you ride through the Jona valley to Wald and then switch in Laupen to the canton of St. Gallen. From here you ride steadily downhill to your destination Rapperswil.
