Description
Start Heuberge: The groomed path driven by piste vehicles leads from the 2000 meter high Berghaus Arflina over several plateaus up to Arflinafurgga (2246 m). This pass connects the Prättigau and Schanfigg valleys - the view from now on shows the Aroser and Lenzerheide mountains and towards Surselva. After a short descent, you reach the Faninpass, where you can catch another view of the Rätikon mountain range with the Schweizertor. The path then runs relatively flat along gentle mountain slopes below Mittagspitz and Cunggel westwards, remaining consistently above the tree line. Finally, some hairpin bends lead to a junction where you gain the path to Berghaus Hochwang (1957 m). Alternatively, you can descend here to Peist. From Berghaus, the path leads for about 1.3 km to the Triemel mountain station of the chairlift (1880 m).
From the Triemel chairlift mountain station, follow the path to Berghaus Hochwang. About 300 m after the Berghaus, the path turns left (signposted "Arflina"). After a short ascent, you reach the gentle slopes below Cunggel and Mittagspitz and soon see the culminating point Arflinafurgga. From the pass, the path leads eastwards to Berghaus Arflina.
