Description
The starting point of this hike in the Beverin Nature Park is Wergenstein on Schamserberg. Wergenstein is an idyllic mountain village at 1487 m above sea level with a wonderful view into Val Schons.
From Wergenstein, the path leads upwards to Dumagns at 1812 m above sea level. From Dumagns it continues via Plan Dargliaz, Danis, Plan Cardaletsch to Nurdagn (a detour to Alp Curtginatsch at 2,272 m above sea level is possible. Alp Curtginatsch is the highest cattle alp in the canton of Graubünden. Nature park products such as alpine cheese and alpine butter are also produced here.) The hike continues to the mountain lake Lai Pintg. From Lai Pintg, it goes over the Forcletta digl Lai Pintg via Schmalzwang to the Cufercalhütte SAC.
The Cufercalhütte is located on a pasture terrace at 2,385 m above sea level at the southern foot of Piz Calandari. The hut, with its cozy common room made of solid Swiss pine, offers space for 23 people and was built in 1937. The Cufercalhütte is staffed from Friday to Sunday in June and daily from July until about mid-October. After you have stayed overnight at the Cufercalhütte, the hike continues the next day to Andeer.
