Description
It doesn’t always have to be the Alps. Even on the Solothurn local mountain Weissenstein, winter sports enthusiasts get their money’s worth. The day starts with a leisurely, roughly ten-minute cable car ride with the Weissenstein cable car from the base station in Oberdorf up to the mountain station. Even during this ride, you can enjoy wonderful views of the Alps and the Aare valley.
The simple Weissenstein cross-country ski trail is located on the plain between the Restaurant Sennhaus and the Berggasthof Hinterweissenstein. It has a length of about six kilometers, offers both a classic and a skating track, and leads in a large loop via Chänzeli to the Berggasthof Hinterweissenstein, the turning point of the route. Cross-country skiing is twice as fun as the Weissenstein also enchants with a dreamy winter landscape and a breathtaking Alpine panorama. The trail is open daily under good snow conditions. It is regularly professionally groomed during opening hours.
The starting point for cross-country skiing activities is the changing container at the Sennhaus Weissenstein. Besides the cross-country ski trail, guests also have access to a winter hiking trail, a treasure hunt, and the sledding paths south and north. The toilets at the mountain inns and the Weissenstein cable car AG may be used free of charge.
The Swiss cross-country ski pass costs CHF 160. Please select the home trail Weissenstein-Jura when purchasing; this helps us to finance the maintenance costs on the Weissenstein.
