Description
Starting from the boat, train, and bus station Flüelen, the hike begins leisurely along the lakeside promenade. Soon follows a fairly steep ascent over artistically made stairs to the old Axen road. Directly above the rock, you walk with a magnificent view of the lake and mountains on the route of the first north-south road at Lake Uri. After forested areas with a southern character, you reach the largest carillon in Switzerland.
80 stone steps lead you downhill to the Tell Chapel by the lake and to the boat station. Over the elegant wooden jetty, the path continues along Lake Uri. The path now goes with ups and downs. It was actually built as the “Federal Councillor Hürlimann” path in 1983. On the north side of the small tunnel at Axen road, a large painted Uristier greets you on the wall. A staircase path finally takes you to the village Sisikon to the train and boat station.
