Description
Arriving with the gondola, the route starts directly at the Wasserfallen mountain station. On the track to Vogelberg, the typical folded Jura landscape presents itself with its forests, rock bands, and the open countryside with its isolated farms. Particularly beautiful is the "skeleton" of the Jura folds visible during the transition between Wasserfallen and Vogelberg. In winter, snowshoe hikers immerse themselves in a fascinating, unspoiled and quiet hilly landscape.
Type: At the highest point of the trail (Passwang 1148m), take a detour to the legendary point 1204 and enjoy a 360° panoramic view in clear weather: To the northwest, the view stretches from the city of Basel to the Vosges in Alsace; to the north towards the Black Forest. To the south, the snow-covered Swiss Alps with Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau, Titlis, Rigi, and Säntis reveal themselves. This viewpoint is also recommended at night.
