Wasserfallen Snowshoe Trail

Description
Arriving by gondola, the route starts immediately at the Wasserfallen mountain station. On the way to Vogelberg, the typical folded Jura landscape presents itself with its forests, rock bands, and the open countryside with its isolated farms. Particularly beautiful is the “skeleton” of the Jura folds seen at the transition between Wasserfallen and Vogelberg. In winter, snowshoe hikers immerse themselves in a fascinating, untouched, and quiet hilly landscape. At Vogelberg, they enjoy a 360° panoramic view on clear days: to the northwest, the view extends from the city of Basel to the Vosges in Alsace, to the north towards the Black Forest. To the south, the snow-covered Swiss high Alps reveal themselves with Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau, Titlis, Rigi, and Säntis. The route leads back along the same path to the Wasserfallen mountain station.
