Description

The route starts at Wald ZH train station. Before the nearly 50 km long ride, a snack at the Bleichebeiz is worthwhile. Afterwards, the path leads up to the former Hasenstrick airfield, then to the Bachtel over the wooded Allmen and further to Steg. Now the valley side changes. The Hörnli antenna serves as a landmark, but the summit is bypassed. Over the Regelsberg, the path leads to the Hulftegg guesthouse, where the pass road is crossed. The route continues along the ridge over the Roten and the Hirzegg. Here the path splits: thirsty riders are drawn to the mountain guesthouse Hirzegg, while summit seekers head to the highest peak in the canton of Zürich – the Schnebelhorn. From the Schindelberg alpine farm, chamois are repeatedly spotted, and tired bikers receive their last refreshment at elevation. From the Habrütispitz, the descents over the lower Boalp into Wolfsgrueb and back to Wald are inviting.
