Description
From Wald, you reach the home mountain of the Zurich Oberland, the popular lookout peak Bachtel, via a fairly steep ascent. The landmark of the Bachtel is the observation and antenna tower. In 1873, a 27-meter-high wooden tower was built here. The current one is the third and was built in 1986. It is equipped with an observation platform at 30 meters high, the Alps indicator, and modern transmission and reception systems. It is worth visiting this magnificent panorama with a 360° panoramic view!
The following high-altitude path to Hinterbettswil is excellent. After a rest phase on the road, another interesting single trail branches off in Hinterburg towards Bauma. Up to Steg, the route is in the valley of the Töss. We eagerly take the scenic path to the Tössscheidi under the wheels. Later, the route runs steeply along the Vorderen Töss up to the Wolfsgrueb. Over Ober- and Niederholz, the starting point is soon reached.
